Guðrún Erla Jónsdóttir, is a Chief Strategy Officer for Reykjavik Energy. In 2006, Dr. Guðrún completed a M.Sc. degree in Marketing and International Business from the University of Iceland and completed her PhD in Business, from the same University in 2022. Her PhD research project is titled ”Ownership Strategy: The Impact of Responsible Ownership on Board Behaviour and Strategic Decision-making”. Dr. Guðrún specialization is in the field of governance and the strategic role of boards. She has taken numerous roles in management of energy and utility companies in Iceland and was the first woman to be elected vice chairman at Samorka, a position she held from 2016 until 2019.
